Position Summary:
The Sr. Director, Services Procurement will work with internal partners at all stages of the supplier sourcing process from communicating needs to contract negotiation to post-contracting relationship review. Candidate will craft tactical and strategic sourcing approaches to ensure client attains attractive quality, costs, and results from its third party supplier relationships. Candidate will be a key component of helping to design and build client's procurement organization and will work with internal business managers, department-level purchasing units, and Corporate Counsel to enter into contracts that ensure client successfully meets all of its business objectives at an appropriate cost. In addition, incumbent will support efforts to measure, monitor and manage supplier risk and continually document, communicate, and improve procurement processes.
Responsibilities would include:
* Reviewing spending and contracts database to proactively identify sourcing opportunities.
* Engaging with department heads and department-level purchasing units to gain advance knowledge of large and/or complex deals.
* Developing strategy for sourcing within categories including coordinating with other departments that may use same or similar suppliers.
* Working with departments to identify supplier candidates, develop supplier specifications, prepare RFIs or RFPs, structuring objective supplier scoring and evaluation methodology, managing supplier communications, evaluating supplier proposals, communicating selection decisions to suppliers, and managing negotiations.
* Developing methodology, frameworks, and tools for effective supplier management including supplier scorecards that monitor against SLAs.
Position Requirements:
* Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
* Conceptual, able to communicate with and influence senior management.
* Deep knowledge of sourcing and negotiating, WITH SPECIFIC FOCUS ON INDIRECT, NON-IT CATEGORIES, especially in the professional services area.
* Experience running categories of spend, including best practices, establishing strategies, etc. especially in the soft services categories (e.g., temporary/contingent labor, consulting and facilities).
* Ability to build relationships and develop internal and external partnerships.
* 5+ years strategic sourcing experience; 10+ years total experience.
* MBA a plus, but not necessary.
